THALASSA MYSTERY BIOTECH CO., LTD.
(TMB)
TMB was founded in 2017 with the mission of "implementing environmental sustainability and developing Penghu's native seaweed extracts." In 2018, we entered the「Penghu Fisheries Research Institute (FRI)-Cultivation Center」and has since completed key R&D achievements, including for "Penghu seaweed artificial marine cultivation technology", publication of the anti-inflammatory and collagen-boosting properties of "Penghu C. Microphylla" in international journals, registration for an INCI name for " Sargassum hemiphyllum," and patenting of "Dual Algae Liposome."
In 2020, the 「DeepAlgae」 brand was established, with "enhancing ocean resilience and restoring (promoting) marine biodiversity" as its core value. Macroalgae forests are cultivated in Penghu waters, providing a feeding ground and shelter for fish, shrimp, snails, and shellfish. Once the macroalgae have completed their marine restoration and reproduction missions, they are harvested and extracted. The extracts are used to create functional skincare products. At the same time, TMB is restoring a new generation of seaweed forests to maintain their ecological value.
The "DeepAlage" series of functional product, made with Penghu algae extracts, offers "precision, at-home, and medical-like" skincare solutions, providing skin repair solutions for those with problematic skin conditions. It has received widespread acclaim, with a repurchase rate of 77%. Furthermore, the "Blue Star Project," launched in 2023 (using refillable inner bottles containing 25% recycled plastic), encourages consumers to join TMB in reducing plastic use by 80%. Over the past two years, customer participation has reached nearly 50%.
In 2025, TMB will collaborate with FRI to implement the "Algae Forest-Seagrass Restoration Project" in Penghu. Combining TMB's macroalgae marine aquaculture technology with seagrass restoration project, leveraging seagrass’ carbon sequestration properties, to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.
